Lean Thoughts

Lean Thoughts, a weekly e-newsletter, was started to keep the members of the Lean Consortium connected. The purpose of the e-newsletter is to increase the ability to communicate and share best practices with our readers. We attempt to restrict the length of the newsletter to just two pages of valuable content that can be applied and shared within your organization.

This week's edition

By Richard Kunst

President and CEO

Greetings;

Spotted our first Robin yesterday and our new toy is now in the country … so spring is definitely around the corner.  Last week we had some great visits in Chicago and Milwaukee.

What was reinforced in our mind is that in order to increase the success of 5S+1, it is important that employees be highly engaged in the implementation phase, because if they have no “skin” in the game they are not as committed as we would like.  It is like a parent making the kids bed every day … there is no motivation for the child to keep the rest of their quarters organized.

This week by popular demand, we are providing you with a quick Lean Assessment tool.  Take it and if you need some help make sure you contact us.

PS: If you feel that you are hour late today, it is probably due to the fact you may have forgotten to change your clock(s)

Regards,
